his own, he shall be paid at the rate of the job to which he is assigned. No hourly rated employees shall receive a rate lower than the rate of pay at which he commenced his day’s work. Piecework employees unable to complete their normal days work due to circumstances beyond their control will be given the opportunity to perform other work if available. In the event there reduction in the work force an employee shall receive the rate of the job to which, by virtue of his seniority, he is assigned providing he is able to perform the work of the job concerned.
