The following memorializes a supplemental agreement made between the Teachers Association of Anne Arundel County [hereinafter, “TAAAC”] and the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County [hereinafter Board]. This Memorandum modifies or waives certain provisions of the collective bargaining agreement shared between the parties and reflects the result of a collaborative effort between the parties. This Memorandum also modifies the specified work year and required hours for 10 month Unit 1 employees. As a result, the Anne Arundel Public Schools (AACPS) calendar, as adopted by the Board on March 3, 2010, will be adjusted. These changes, explained in detail below, were necessary to reach mutual agreement on the closing of the 2009-10 school year which had been beset by ten school closures due to inclement weather.
