The final overall concept of the project is represented in Figure 3, which integrates both UHT-LHTES with TIPV energy conversion. The final goal is to develop a new kind of ultra-compact thermal energy storage (TES) device that might be used in a very broad range of applications, including solar thermal power generation, electric storage and cogeneration, waste heat recovery, space power, etc.
