A Mutual Aid and Assistance Agreement between the City of Savannah and the Board of Public Education (Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS)) has been developed to specify terms of intergovernmental cooperation in the event of an emergency. With the February 1, 2018, dissolution of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD), existing mutual aid agreements require revision to substitute the City of Savannah and the Savannah Police Department (SPD) in place of SCMPD.
