In April 2017 the City of Sequim’s Youth Services Task Force (“Youth Task Force”) conducted a Youth Summit to solicit ideas on how to promote the welfare and inclusion of young people in the city. Strong feedback was provided on the need for community gathering venues and entertainment activities geared toward younger residents but inclusive of all generations. The most popular suggestions proposed by Summit participants involved the availability of live music, “open mic” and other musical and arts activities at youth-friendly, community-oriented venues.
