FiledNovember 16th, 2021In 1855, an agreement was signed with the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation, officially known as the Treaty of 1855. The Yakama Nation* agreed to surrender to the United States ceded lands within Washington Territory. Since no longer considered Tribal lands, the land was not excluded when congress approved the admission of Washington as a state. See Attachment A - a copy of the Treaty of 1855.
