As the designated curatorial repository, CAS will manage the collection in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations (36CFR, Part 79 and the Texas Historical Commission rules and Collections Management Policy), as well as the terms of any cooperative or contractual agreements. CAS is acknowledged as holding these materials in trust; however, actual ownership of the specimens and records rests with the State of Texas or the submitting governmental entity noted above.
