This Agreement shall be for the purpose of NASA and Partner collaborating in the development of a shape memory alloy (SMA) reconfigurable technology applied to vortex generators (VGs) to enable controlled VGs for noise reduction for transport aircraft high lift systems. This activity will benefit NASA by evaluating and maturing NASA's developed shape memory alloys subjected to testing in a relevant environment. This partnership will help NASA advance the core capabilities and critical technologies related to shape memory alloys for aeronautical devices. This activity will benefit the Partner by addressing goals of the FAA CLEEN III program related to community noise reduction with potential transition path to Boeing products or services in the 2031 timeframe.
