Before a paper is published the lead author will receive a copyright agreement from the publisher which they must complete and return. In the UK, copyright in related works belongs to a person’s employer1 and copyright must be licensed or assigned by Rothamsted to the publisher to allow them to publish the work of Rothamsted employees.
