Ex-Ante EvaluationLoan Agreement • April 25th, 2016
Contract Type FiledApril 25th, 2016In Bangladesh, despite the rapid economic development in recent years, 32% of the population, or approximately 47 million people live below the poverty line (2010). The problem was worse in rural areas, where 71% of the population, or approximately 105 million people resided, as these areas had a poverty rate of 35%, which was more than 10% higher than that of the urban areas. In order to facilitate development in rural areas with a higher poverty rate, it is urgent to strengthen the capacity of local government institutions to promote development projects and deliver public services that can meet the needs of residents.
