Since the implementation of credit card processing by District 211 in 1995, Moneris has been the banking provider of our credit card processing services. The District currently accepts credit cards for student registration fees (regular, continuing education, summer school and sports camps) as well as the school breakfast and lunch program. Processing of these transactions consists of two parts – a front-end user interface to collect information, and a back-end processing system to fund the transaction and charge each individual credit card. The front-end processing system for the District was custom built by District 211 technology staff to handle fees and obligations. Parents and students interact through this front-end obligation system when registering online or updating meal accounts. Credit and debit transactions received in this module are passed through to Moneris for back-end processing, and are funded within two days directly to the District’s bank account.
