There are various models for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). The model most appropriate for small to medium sized businesses is a ‘behind the meter’ PPA, whereby a provider installs and owns a renewable energy source (e.g. rooftop solar) on the site of the business. Electricity generated is supplied solely to the business at an agreed rate.
