This offer is not intended as the sole instrument through which the rural GP/Rural Generalist workforce is supported and should be read in the context of work underway under the government’s Rural Health Workforce Strategy, including delivery of the SA Rural Medical Workforce Plan 2019-24 and the implementation of the Rural Generalist Pathway South Australia. In relation to Rural Generalist training, and broader medical training, this offer further recognises that rural GPs/Rural Generalists are not just central to service delivery but are also essential to train, supervise and mentor the next generation of rural doctors and ensure a sustainable future medical workforce.
