The University may establish employment provisions with a faculty member through a written contract. Such an agreement between the faculty member and the University includes specific provisions in which there is a promise to perform in return for valuable consideration. The faculty member promises to perform and be accountable for the specific named responsibilities and those acts and forbearances in the University’s best interests, which may include active collaboration with University colleagues, for aspects of the University’s academic programs.
