This holds a one-size-fits-all approach for all countries irrespective of their standing in terms of making economic development and meeting basic needs including food security. In fact, developed countries have gradually increasing technology that helps them genetically modifying PGRs. Such use of technology often brings in better yields and ensures food security. Moreover, rents made out of the trade of PGRs- based products also encourage further research and development (RSsD) for improving PGRs.
