For your information, pursuant to Section 274b. of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (Act), entitled “Cooperation With States,” the Commission on February 12, 2008, approved an Agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Under the Agreement, the Commonwealth will assume certain regulatory authority over byproduct material in Sections 11e.(1), 11e.(3), and 11e.(4) of the Act, source material, special nuclear material in quantities not sufficient to form a critical mass, and land disposal of all waste for such materials. The Agreement becomes effective March 31, 2008.
