This contract is equivalent to a course syllabus and should provide a detailed list of work to be conducted over the semester and associated deliverables. This is considered a contract between the instructor (mentor) and the student and should be created collaboratively. Because the honors thesis is a yearlong project, it is important to think about the work that will be conducted/completed over two semesters. The contract should also include a description of the key deliverables that will be used to determine the final grade. Please also include a detailed timeline. Deviations from this contract should be updated and documented to the extent possible by the instructor and student. Students are expected to devote at least three hours of independent work per week for each unit of credit (e.g., 9 hours/week if 3 credit hours).
