In March 2010 a twinning agreement was signed between the town of Bathgate and the town of Cran-Gevrier, France. A Boghall staff member has since attended regular meetings with the Twinning Association and in October 2010 two teachers from Boghall Primary spent a few days in the French town and established a link with Vallon Primary. Four classes from each school wrote letters to each other and sent photographs to share what they had been learning about. They learned about activities going on throughout the school and in the local community. The children from both schools also learned about each others' country, culture and education system. Visitors from Cran-Gevrier have so far visited Boghall on three occasions. Although Vallon Primary is no longer able to continue twinning with Boghall Primary, a partnership with Renoir Primary in Cran Gevrier was established in August 2014.
