The County’s mandate to provide emergency medical services administrative and oversight functions has been delegated by your Board to the Health Services Agency. These responsibilities have been carried out by an emergency medical services manager, with direction and supervision by the Medical Care Program Administrator, the Health Officer, and the HSA Administrator. The long time incumbent in the EMS manager position resigned his employment with the County on July 10, 1998. HSA conducted a recruitment and selection process, but the newly selected EMS manager left County employment after only a few days on the job. Pending another recruitment, EMS needs have been served by the Medical Care Program Administrator and the EMS support staff.
