The attached Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) reflects the tentative agreement reached by UFCW Local 1996 and The Kroger Company negotiating committees. The parties worked diligently to provide a fair and equitable contract, meeting the needs of our membership. In this agreement, we were able to get more money in the Atlanta and Savannah areas. In my 43 years serving Local 1996, I have never seen the kind of wage increases that are in this package. The value of wages alone is almost 200 million dollars over the course of the next 4 years. This will secure significant increases to starting rates and pay increases throughout the life of this agreement.
