The Chiltern Training Group (CTG), the oldest provider of school centred initial teacher training in the England, was formed in 1993 by Challney High School for Boys and Community College. It is a consortium of seventeen secondary schools in Luton, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire and the Luton Sixth Form College. The CTG maintains very close links with Luton Local Authority where most of the partnership schools are located. The central team is based at Challney High School for Boys and Community College which is a designated Teaching School. CTG’s initial teacher training provision was judged ‘Outstanding’ in April 2009.
