ICANN and Verisign, Inc. (Verisign), the registry operator of the .NET Top-Level Domain (TLD), have reached a preliminary agreement on the proposed renewal of the .NET Registry Agreement (RA). ICANN and Verisign have also reached preliminary agreement on an amendment to the 27 March 2020 Binding Letter of Intent (LOI) between the two parties. The LOI provides a framework for working together on additional initiatives and was originally put into place in 2020 as part of the .COM Registry Agreement Amendment #3. The proposed renewal of the .NET RA is the result of bilateral negotiations between the two parties as provided for in the RA.
