This Agreement is entered into between the Spring Hill Site of General Motors LLC (GM) and Local 1853 of the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW). The Parties have long recognized the need for new approaches to Union/Management relations and the recognition that people are our most valuable asset in the manufacturing of vehicles in the United States. GM and the Union recognize the necessity of further developing innovative approaches to Union/Management relations to accomplish our mutual objectives. General Motors, Spring Hill Site and the Union understand fully the necessity to successfully forge a renewed commitment to a cooperative problem-solving relationship and demonstrate that competitive, world class, quality vehicles can be manufactured in Spring Hill with a represented work force.
