United For several years the Health Services Agency (HSA) has contracted for health planning activities with the Health Improvement Partnership (HIP). These activities were covered, first, via contract with the Central Coast Alliance for Health, which acted as an umbrella organization for fiscal activities, and then directly with HIP, when they obtained 501 status. The Health Improvement Partnership has decided that it would be more efficient working within an umbrella organization that was also a non-profit for administrative support. After considering mission compatibility and costs, the United Way of Santa Cruz County agreed to be the administrative services organization for HIP.
