A sublease agreement is a document between a tenant, who has a lease agreement with a landlord, and a subtenant who agrees to rent the same property from the tenant. The term of a sublease cannot go beyond the end date of the original lease. A tenant is required to obtain the owner's consent if the sublet is prohibited in the tenant's lease.
