Hampshire College has small maintenance, repair, alteration and/or renovation work orders and projects underway in addition to large-scale projects. Many of these projects are done with Contractors with whom the Owner has a long-standing relationship; however, written contracts will be executed. These are required to protect both Hampshire College and the Contractor from unacceptable work practices, violations of OSHA regulations or Health and Safety rules of the College, or from an accident which may happen that results in personal injury or property damage, and to clearly state the responsibilities of the parties involved. If undesirable circumstances should occur, it is important to have a written contract. In addition, it is important to have written contracts for work in progress at the College for financial control, record keeping and auditing purposes.
