DISCUSSION: The attached agreement is to provide The Creative Curriculum® System for Preschool, Teaching Strategies GOLD® online reporting and assessment system, and professional development training for Head Start and Title 1 prekindergarten programs. Head Start Performance Standards and the Florida Department of Education require the provision of a comprehensive curriculum to support the development of the skills outlined in the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework and the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards. Creative Curriculum will meet these requirements in addition to providing district prekindergarten programs with a curriculum that is correlated to the new learning standards. The last time a comprehensive curriculum was purchased for the district’s Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program was in 2004.
