The Central Virginia Governor’s School (CVGS) network and Internet services are designed to enhance student learning by supporting instructional activities within the school and by providing students with access to the resources available on the Internet. Through our Internet connections, students can search libraries for information on research topics, download data to use in their research, and communicate with scientists, political leaders and other students around the world. Through the access we grant students to Google Drive and Google Apps, students are able to organize and store their files securely off-site and participate in numerous meaningful educational activities. Because of its enormous size, the educational potential of the Internet is boundless, and the continuous creation of new and more powerful Internet applications holds great promise for students as well. However, with such great potential for education also comes potential for abuse.
