Contract Type FiledSeptember 10th, 2019The State of Florida participates in the federal and Low Income Pool (LIP), which provides governmental funding support to providers for the costs of uncompensated charity care for qualifying low-income individuals. Funding for the LIP program comes from intergovernmental transfers (IGTs) and federal matching funds. IGT funds are used to draw down federal matching funds and payments are made to eligible charity care health services providers. Flagler Hospital is the designated provider of charity care health services to qualifying local residents. Therefore, in accordance with Senate Bill 2500, the General Appropriations Act of State Fiscal Year 2019-2020, passed by the 2019 Florida Legislature, the County and the State of Florida, Agency for Health Care Administration (Agency) seek to enter into a Letter of Agreement (LOA), allowing for the intergovernmental transfer of funds to provide charity care health services for local qualifying residents.
