This pilot project is to demonstrate scalable whole building retrofit solutions that can be efficiently and cost-effectively installed on New York State multifamily affordable housing buildings of not more than seven stories in height using off-site manufacturer panels with pre-fitted fenestration and high performance mechanical systems to achieve a site Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of not more than 30 kBtu/sf/yr and an airtightness of not more than 1.5 Air Changes per Hour @ 50 pascals (ACH50) and which, with the addition of onsite renewable energy source should approach or achieve net zero energy (NZE) performance and advance the goal of making New York’s building stock Carbon Neutral.
