Plumas Charter School (PCS) views the Internet as a source of information and a forum for the exchange of ideas, providing an excellent educational tool for our students. However Internet access also provides access to materials that do not have educational value or that are inappropriate for student use. Students may encounter information and ideas they may consider obscene, controversial, abusive, or otherwise offensive. Despite these risks, PCS considers that the value of the educational information available on the Internet far outweighs the risk that students might access inappropriate materials, particularly in view of the measures PCS has taken to ensure that student access is limited by both staff supervision and the best available filtering technology.
