Contract Type FiledApril 24th, 2020The Walker Basin Conservancy (Conservancy) was established by Public Law 111-85 (2009) for the primary purpose of restoring and maintaining Walker Lake, and to protect agriculture, environmental and habitat interests in the Walker Basin consistent with that primary purpose. The Conservancy is making available approximately 1,000 acre-feet of storage water (700 acre-feet from Bridgeport Reservoir and 300 acre-feet from Topaz Lake) for lease during the 2020 irrigation season through a reverse auction. The Conservancy invites current Walker River Irrigation District (WRID) patrons interested in leasing storage water to submit a bid by mail, dropping off a completed bid at the Conservancy’s Yerington field station, or email using the Bid Form (see below for details).
