The Monticello Road Project is currently on the Capital Improvement Program. Phase 1 of the project (Shawnee Mission Parkway to 71st Terrace) is at Final Completion while Phase 2 is projected to commence in February of 2022. The Final Plans for Phase 2 of the Monticello Road Project were approved by the Governing Body on November 22, 2021. The improvements on Phase 2 include a new Monticello Roadway from 71st Terrace to 7900 Block as well as extending 75th Street from current Monticello Road to the new Monticello Road. Grading, pavement, stormwater, curb and gutters, sidewalk, shared use paths, bike lanes, street lighting, and signing are all items of work on the project.
