WHEREAS the Legislature of the State of New Mexico has granted authority to the Director of the State Police Division (hereinafter referred to as the “Chief of the New Mexico State Police”) to issue commissions as New Mexico Peace Officers to members of the police or sheriff’s department of any New Mexico Indian tribe or pueblo or a law enforcement officer employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Section 29-1-11, N.M.S.A., 1978 Comp.
