The Town of Amherst, Massachusetts, the United States of America and Kanegasaki Town, Iwate Prefecture, Japan renew our pledge on this the 20th anniversary of our agreement to be bound together as Sister Cities through educational, cultural, enterprise, economic and other exchanges, to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between our two Towns, while adding to the goodwill between our countries, and striving to contribute to the peace and prosperity of the world.
