Proprietary software known as Computerized Hospital On-line Resource Allocation Link (CHORAL). This system currently is comprised of personal computers (PCs) at SMCPSC, EMS Agency, and all receiving hospital emergency departments. The system sends electronic information via modem and the information is displayed on the PC screens. Displayed is each hospital’s status regarding its ability to accept patients by ambulance. The system is also used to communicate each hospital’s ability to accept victims of multiple casualty incidents when polled by SMCPSC.
