ANNEX BETWEENAnnex Agreement • June 12th, 2020
This Annex One shall be for the purpose of transferring NASA’s current distributed robotics technology and supporting the development of integrated systems. These technologies could be used to migrate computing functions from on-board an autonomous vehicle (i.e., self-driving car) to off-board (i.e., “the cloud”) in order to: enable coordination between vehicles, roadway infrastructure, etc.; to improve performance through the use of high-performance off-board processing & large data; and enhance robustness through shared information (distributed models, shared perception, etc.). Through this Annex, the Parties seek to provide Nissan North America (NNA) with modified NASA robotics technology, which could consist of data or open source software, as well as proof-of-concept demonstrations (TRL 4 to 6) that make use of the modified technology.
