In order to implement the reduction in maximum class contact for primary teachers to 23.5 hours per week, there has been an increase in the staffing standard. This increase will also enable more effective classroom organisation and quality assurance arrangements in each school. This may take the form of specified management time for those in promoted posts, or to facilitate class arrangements settingsor specialist support in line with the schools’ priorities.
