Independent Study AgreementMay 12th, 2020
St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry requires that all Independent Studies are documented via a written agreement. An Independent Study begins and ends within a regular academic term; exceptions must be approved by the Academic Dean. This agreement must be completed, approved, and submitted to the Registrar before the Independent Study begins. There are two types of Independent Studies: (a) Tutorial Study – the Independent Study provides a course that is regularly offered, but is sought outside of those offerings for scheduling or curricular need; (b) Directed Study – the Independent Study provides the student with an opportunity to study a subject or area that is not treated by regularly offered courses. Please append the course syllabus to this agreement.
