The Company and the Union agree that the purpose and intent of this Agreement is to promote co-operation and harmony, to recognize mutual interest, to provide a channel through which information and problems may be transmitted from one to the other, to formulate rules to govern the relationship between the Company, all persons covered by this Agreement, and the Union, to promote efficiency and service, and sets forth herein the basic agreement controlling rates of pay, hours of work, dispute procedure and conditions of employment.
