If a municipally owned facility requires the use of the city or region’s name, the lease agreement should include language that provides the specific team name and requires that it will be used during the lease term. The lease should also address how the name should be used, what occurs if the team ceases to use the name, and possibly provide permission for the team to buy out its obligation regarding the name requirement.
