The Bamfield Huu-ay-aht Community Forest Society was incorporated in January 1999. Pilot Community Forest Agreement (CFA) K1E with its Management Plan 1 and an Annual Allowable Cut (AAC) of 1000 m3 was approved in September 2001 for a period of 10 years, during which only two Cutting Permits were harvested in 2006 for a total of app. 2100 m3. A 12-year hiatus in harvesting followed from October 2006 until CP-03 was obtained in August 2017 and app. 1000 m3 was harvested in December 2018 in 4 small patch cuts totalling 1 ha along the Kixiin Road.
