Current and forecasted teacher shortages compel the Division to add additional pathways towards securing highly effective and certified teachers. Recent legislation, specifically House Bill 2486, along with clarification through the Superintendent’s Memorandum 291-19, enable school divisions to partner with Educator Preparation Programs, with preference given to CAEP accredited entities, to apply to the VDOE to create a collaborative educator preparation program.
