NONREIMBURSABLE SPACE ACT AGREEMENT BETWEENNonreimbursable Space Act Agreement • March 13th, 2023
Contract Type FiledMarch 13th, 2023This Space Act Agreement shall be for the purpose of leveraging NASA and LUNAR’s expertise in in-situ resource utilization in order to collaborate on an in-situ power grid to explore the feasibility of creating an in-situ grid where lunar grid components, such as photovoltaic arrays and power cables are manufactured on the lunar surface with materials found on the Moon. This effort seeks to advance the concept of fabricating, constructing, and operating lunar photovoltaic power grids comprised of lunar in-situ photovoltaic arrays and transmission lines integrated and controlled by Earth transported power management and distribution systems. This activity will benefit NASA by further establishing NASA’s leadership in lunar surface power systems, including supporting NASA’s goal of creating a lunar commercial economy and accelerating technology development related to in-situ resource utilization and the manufacturing of photovoltaic arrays and transmission cables on the lunar surface.
