FY 2013 APPROPRIATIONS AGREEMENT SIGNEDOn March 26, President Obama signed into law the FY 2013 continuing resolution agreement reached earlier in the month between the House and Senate. The Senate added three spending bills—Agriculture; Commerce, Justice, Science; and Homeland Security—to the two (Defense and Military Construction-VA) in the House measure. The Senate also approved several critical changes to priority programs including the military tuition language. Funding levels remain at the FY 2012 level, less a 0.2% across-the-board cut and the 5% cut mandated by sequestration for FY 2013. The Budget Control Act of 2011 exempted several programs from sequestration, particularly Pell Grants, for FY 2013.AACC Contact: Laurie Quarles 2. BE
