The Board of Education of the Christina School District (District) enters into the following Agreement to resolve Office for Civil Rights (OCR) Case No. 03-10-5001 to ensure compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI), 42 U.S.C. § 2000d et seq., and its implementing regulation at 34 C.F.R. Part 100. Title VI and its implementing regulation prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color or national origin by recipients of federal financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Education (the Department). The District agrees to take corrective action to resolve the Title VI violations established by this compliance review; such corrective action will include all necessary and appropriate measures to ensure that the District’s disciplinary policies, practices and procedures (hereinafter referred to collectively as “policies”) are administered in a non-discriminatory manner.
