FiledApril 18th, 2016On 12 December 2015, the Paris Agreement was adopted at the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Paris, France. Meant to enhance the implementation of the UNFCCC, the Paris Agreement is viewed by many as a key instrument that would galvanize a global shift towards a low-carbon development, thereby limiting additional warming to 2 degrees Celsius, increasing resilience to the adverse impacts of climate change, and addressing the problem of poverty around the world.
