The Agreement on Promotion, Protection and Guarantee of Investments among Member States of the Organization of the Islamic Conference was approved and opened for signature by resolution 7/12-E of the Twelfth Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers held in Baghdad, Iraq, on 1-5 June 1981. It entered into force on 23 September 1986. As of January 1995, the members of the Organization of Islamic Conference included Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Azerbaïjan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Maldives, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Tadjikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, and United Republic of Tanzania
