Tyler Junior College signed the Certification and Agreement form and submitted it to the Department of Education and a received third round of additional funds for emergency financial aid grants to students under Section 2003 of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP) (Pub. L. 117-2). This act allocated a supplemental award of $13,859,503.00 to provide emergency financial aid grants to students for any component of the student’s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus such as tuition, food, housing, healthcare (including mental health), or child care. Tyler Junior College received $13,859,503 for student awards and intends to disburse $13,859,503 directly to students. As of 02/28/22, TJC has distributed $13,859,503.00 as the TJC COVID Relief grant to 11,644 students. It was estimated that 9,871 students could qualify for the TJC COVID Relief Grant during the 21-22 academic year. This report is the final report since funds are fully expended.
