THIS AGREEMENT is entered into pursuant to Section 215.971, Florida Statutes (F.S.), between the STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, whose address is 3900 Commonwealth Boulevard, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-3000 (hereinafter referred to as the “Department”) and the CITY OF LAKE WALES, whose address is 201 West Central Avenue, Lake Wales, Florida 33853 (hereinafter referred to as “Grantee”), a local government, to provide financial assistance for the Lake Wales West State Road (SR) 60 Expansion. Collectively, the Department and the Grantee shall be referred to as “Parties” or individually as a “Party”.

The State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection Division of Water Restoration Assistance Grant Agreement pursuant to line item 1600A of the FY16-17 General Appropriations Act has been prepared and is attached for your approval. The grant for $450,000 has been awarded to complete the Phase 1 construction of Se7en Wetlands Master Plan. The 1640 acre wetland is located just east of the City of Mulberry. It is maintained by the Wastewater utility and is currently closed to the public.
